dc knock off.

he should just save up a little more and at least get tsudo or megan. those are cheap and reputable.

proper fitment and quality might be lacking.

if he is trying to make more power for cheap w/o caring how his car will sound then this is fine. A 4-2-1 header is ideal. As they result in the least rasp and provide the most overall useable power. But heres the thing, if he isnt planning on changing the muffler, the stock one should do plenty to cover the noise of the header. Another thing to think about though is that he is gonna throw a check engine light if he throws this on there. You can buy a CEL fix for like 50 buck or make one for like 10-15 ish??? But me personally, I am gonna get a tsudo header. It may cost more but as far as i know it fits better, you have better backing of the product, it comes with a CEL fix, you wont lose as much low end torque as you will with a 4 to 1 header, and it comes with an S-pipe too.

sorry, but dc headers already makes a HUGE amount of rasp. i don't even wana think about what kind of sounds this knockoff is capable of screeching out. if your friend doesn't wana spend that much money on things like this, i'd tell not to spend the money at all. dme on the other hand is a pretty reputable company.

Im hoping to be getting myself the Tsudo real soon. not only does it come with an S-Pipe. But its a 4-2-1, AND it comes with a CEL fixer. I figured why not.

well like it or not DC and DME are owned by the same company..

OP please buy a name brand. these headers are great that they are cheap but if the header cracks your friend is going to be in a mess of headaches.. tell your friend to work harder and put this off for a couple months and get a proper header with a CEL fix

i tried uploading pics of my dme but photobucket is actin up, and i can tell you from personal experience, that the dc and dme sound different, i had the alphawerks on my car after i had my full 2.5 exhaust built and installed, when i was parting out my car a friend traded me a dc and some cash for the alpha and i couldn't stand the sound so i sold it, now im running the dme and i love it again, it has a rasp only under hard loads, i.e when you shift into 2nd to soon and the car bogs alittle. im running a megan spipe and full mandral bent midpipe with a single aero25 and hks hi power muffler. the dc had a rasp all the time and sounded like crap, the dme has different runner lenghts is why im guessing the difference in sound

i ended up loading one to my profile, the header has a dull look which i like cause i dont want any bling under the hood, i have a pic of before i started and this is one after i took it for a test drive, be sure when installing you are sure to whip off all fingerprints and dont use cleaners to do so, fingerprints or cleaners well show up after starting the car and it wont look as clean.

ill take a pic shortly but to be honest it still basically looks the same, i just used a dry cloth to whip it really good, plus i tried my hardest not to touch the upper part of the header. a buddy of mine used windex and after it heated up there are blue streaks now along the tubes.

^wiping it down really good works or you can use rubbing alcohol with a clean lint free towel.
