Default Fujita Hax

Alright so something weird happened...
Long story short, I lost my driver's side fender liner. Now this is a problem because obviously the intake draws air from that area. With all the rain lately, I was worried that water would get sucked into my intake.
So I got up under my car and about 45 min later... converted the Fujita intake into a short ram intake. After starting up the car, and making sure it was running fine, I took it for a test drive. About 2 miles down the road... i realized that the CEL was gone. I have had that CEL ever since I installed the intake.
It has been a few days now.... and still no CEL. Weird huh?

Did you reset the battery?
My tC got rid of it's CEL after I converted it as well.

^That has next to no relevance to a CEL.

actually it does, the fujita cai has known issues on its 07' intake that's why they had to make an updated part. the problem was at the maf housing causning guess what? a cel.
the next question would be what was the particular code?

i popped my hood yesterday to just see if it would work.. it looks like the filter would be too big to sit in the engine bay instead of the fender lining.. so i dunno. lmk =]

Once fixed, or once the car gets over whatever caused the CEL, it can go away automatically.

Case in point; I didnt tighten my gas cap. Next day, CEL is on. Knowing a loose gas cap is the first thing to check for I tightened it. Seeing online that it usually takes a car 10-20 starts (a couple days) to rid itself of the CEL, I waited a couple days. CEL gone after about 4 days.

So what I'm saying is, maybe it just got used to the intake. USed to the more air coming in and had nothing to do with the shortened intake.

the only problem with that is the known issue with the 07 version of the fujita intake, that's why they had to make an updated replacement, unfortunately I didn't have a reciept, the e-mail from the online purchase got deleted so i got stuck with an intake that I can't use. that's why I was wondering if this might by some strange chance work.

Damn. I'm about to buy a bronze fujita. Did they ever fix whatever was causing the problem?

it was only on the 07 model, and yes they did, make sure you get the updated version.
