How much power are you looking to gain? If you're looking for a minor improvement you could go with any of the mods jimmy suggested, but if you want a noticeable increase in power you should save up and buy a turbo kit.

Some people prefer looks over performance. I am doing looks first, then once I pay the car off I will start messing with the motor.
I would have went with a lip kit over a body kit but that's just me.

Oh and for $1000, the only thing that will give you a noticeable power gain is nitrous. As long as its a wet shot, Id say a 50 shot is safe and will give you a noticeable power gain. Id also recommend getting a window switch as a safety measure so itll cut the spray above redline in case you hit the limiter. All in all a good setup can be had for $600-700 ish. Than get an intake with what you have left over. Ive heard of a few people having issues with trying to find a way to tap the stock intake for n02.

i average 20 mpg. I'm at 300 whp and a little rich to make for a super conservative tune though. If you're only shooting for like 230 or somethign like that, it won't be as drastic of a drop.

save up for turbo, or juice it. I spray a 125 shot on a built motor, and walk all over the 2 turbo'd tc's by me. you can easily make 220whp with a GOOD nitrous set up without any issues on a stock motor on a 75 shot. Learn how to use it, then go for it. imo, boost is a lot funner, and feels more natural, but nitrous is a hell of a time too if your into the nitrous idea PM me for detailed info, dont go out and buy a juice kit and expect it to work good.
