Default Is getting a Header worth it?

I have an injen cai and the greddy evo2 exhaust. I want to get the dc sport header but ive heard sound clips of it on tc's and it sounds pretty loud and raspy. Do you guys think it is worth getting it even though the car will sound bad?

Will increase your hp, but move your powerband farther up. The reason it sounds raspy is because of the lack of a good resonator welded in. Get an 18" or bigger resonator welded into your evo2 by a muffler shop or something, and will sound like butter.

evo2 is especially notorious for sounding bad with headers. I would get a 30" resonator.

Ah, good call I forgot about that, something like 26"-30" would be best.

Magnaflow. But you can just go to your local muffler shop, they should have them. They will weld it for you.

Search for anti-fouler write up, there are several of them. What kind of s-pipe do you plan on getting? Invidia is a bit more difficult because of the location of the bung.

Describes how to install/create an antifouler which is your 02 sensor fooling device.

Here you go. This is pretty much the only antifouler out there for the Invidia s-pipe so you don't have to cut anything or move anything around. Its 25bux shipped and I've got over 2k on mine and still no CEL. Works for all other s-pipes too but was originally created for the Invidia https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...r=asc&&start=0

Try this one. I heard its a bit difficult to use the the anti fouler trick with the invidia. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...175210&start=0

The 02 sensor you're going to be worried about is the one on the s-pipe which is what the antifouler mod or the thing I linked you to will help eliminate. If you do the s-pipe yourself then you will have to do the mod yourself. If you have a shop do the s-pipe too then you will have to provide them the part and tell them how to reset the ecu (basically unplug it for 5mins) If the 12" one your looking at is AR25 from aero exhaust, I've heard good reviews about that little resonator. If its another one then I can't help you there too much. I know magnaflow makes like a 22" one that people have bought as well.

Yeah, like amd said. Buy they part from the link I gave you and bring it to the shop along with your header. You should also get a new manifold gasket. Are you planning on switching out your mid-pipe and axle-back or you want to slap a resonator on the stock pipe?

Don't have a direct link. Search around the Magnaflow website. In the event that you are keeping the stock mid-pipe, getting aero ar25 resonator should be sufficient considering the stock pipe has a cat and a resonator on it already. Though I would not spend the money on the stock pipe and just get an aftermarket s-pipe back exhaust as well, then slap a resonator on it.

If i keep the stock s pipe and midpipe and put a resonator on the midpipe would the people installing the header know how to keep the c.e.l from going on?
