Greddy E-Manage Ultimate and an N/A Engine

So, I just got my GReddy E-Manage Ultimate a couple of weeks ago from Scott at Ballistic Motorsports, http://www.ballisticmotorsports.org/...Site/Home.html . He also suggested that I buy the Boomslang Harness so that I didn't have to hack up my wiring and it'll be easy to remove if I sell my car down the line. The first E-manage that we got was defective. With the tuning coming up that weekend, he hooked me up and bout me another E-manage while the first one was getting sent back and repaired. He saved my life because if I didn't get the e-manage that weekend, I would have had to wait until June for the next available tuning session.

So this past weekend, I took my car to Giles at HollyRoller Dyno, http://www.holyrollerdyno.com/Holyro...e/Welcome.html to get it tuned. Scott and Giles do work together and their shops are only a few hundred feet from each other. I took the car to Giles because he came highly recommended , does a lot of tuning with the GReddy E-manage Ultimate and knows it like the back of his hand. While he had my car their, he did some research on some tricks that he had up his sleeve. The trick he did had something to do with getting a better response when pressing down on the throttle. Something about Toyota and how they restrict the car from going between an economy mode setting and a "power" setting when you push down on the peddle. I might have not explained it correctly. He can explain that one better then I can.

The mods I already had on the car was an Injen CAI, Weapon R Header and Precision Exhaust. After the tuning, I ended up with about +10 WHP and more importantly, about +20 Torque lb/ft. Now every gear feels solid. Here's the plot, http://www.holyrollerdyno.com/Holyro...o_Plots.html#0 . In the end, I have about 177 WHP and about 175 Torque lb/ft.

I'm mainly writing this because I couldn't find (easily) anyone with an N/A setup and a GReddy E-manage Ultimate. If anyone needs there car tuned, I would highly recommend Giles @ Hollyroller Dyno. He loves what he does and he will look out for you.

Hopefully, someone finds this info useful. Let me know what you think.

nice numbers! i hate altitude, i only put down 145hp and 156tq, but i only used an emanage blue

stillettoDSM 04-28-2009 02:13 AM

That's awesome. Those are darn good numbers for an N/A tC with a Basic I/H/E Setup, who knew. Congrats.

Thanks guys! I'm happy with the numbers, but you know how it is, I wouldn't mind a little more power.

wow nice numbers makes me want to get my car tuned.

How much did all of that cost?

Thorium06 04-28-2009 05:25 PM

so you should buy some cams

Well I would contact Scott about the GReddy E-manage Ultimate and see what he can do about pricing. Also for the Plug and Play harness. Be careful where you get your E-manage from because they are now cloning the GReddy E-manage ultimate. His number is at the bottom of his website, http://www.ballisticmotorsports.org/...Site/Home.html.
Also for a better estimate on the tuning. I would check with Giles. Like I mentioned, he did some extra tricks on mine so it took a little longer. He will be happy to answer your questions. You can find his contact info here, http://www.holyrollerdyno.com/Holyro...o/Contact.html.

There are a few options. I haven't done any research on any one of them. But thanks for the advise. Are there any numbers on performance gains?

Thorium06 04-28-2009 05:56 PM

Def. Watching

So the other added benefit of getting the car tuned is that I will get better gas mileage. Maybe +2 MPG. I'll post up some numbers when I get them. I'm going to fill up tomorrow and see what I get. Probably gonna take about 1 week for me to go through a tank of gas. I'll see if I can get an average. I was getting a little over 25 MPG before the tune (93 octane).

NVMyTc 05-01-2009 06:07 AM

Do you still have the stock mid-pipe?

Great numbers man, Im thinking about doing a small all-motor build and your numbers are really making me want to do it lol

NYNATIV 05-07-2009 01:16 PM

Ok, so I got my first numbers for MPG... 28.5 MPG. Before the e-manage, I was getting about 25.5 MPG. So that's +3 MPG plus the added power. It's the best of both worlds. I'm going to keep track of my MPG and see if it's consistent. I'll post another update when I get more numbers.

BlckdOutTC 05-08-2009 07:24 PM

get off that 93 octane
