Do you race any? Have you turned on the 2step launch control in the Ultimate, or raised the RPM's up from the stock 6250?

NYNATIV 05-18-2009 06:28 PM

The power peaked at 5600 rpm, therefore there would be no point to raise the limiter.

I don't race so I'm not going to turn on the 2step.

I tried to get the harness from GReddy but they wouldn't sell it unless you were buying it with one of their turbos or something like that. Let me know how you make out.

Oh and I filled up again last week. I got about 27.5 MPG. That was after my normal driving for about a week. The first gas mileage numbers were not from my normal driving. I had done a lot of highway driving that week. So I got about +2 MPG. I'm still keeping track.

You can still shift before or at 5600rpm's. The extra rpm would be beneficial for the 1/4 mile as you would be redlining in 4th gear as you come across the beams.

But anyhow, you don't race.....so what do you mod for? Show car?

NYNATIV 05-18-2009 07:06 PM

For right now, show car and just to have the extra power. But I am going to start racing this year.

rhythmnsmoke 05-18-2009 07:36 PM

Drag? AutoX? Time Attack?

NYNATIV 05-18-2009 07:37 PM

For now I'm thinking about drag.

rhythmnsmoke 05-18-2009 08:34 PM

Gotcha.

elcapetan 05-18-2009 10:30 PM

now put an intale manifold on it.

NYNATIV 05-19-2009 02:51 PM

Giles and I are working on some other mods. I'll let you know how it goes.

elcapetan 05-22-2009 03:34 AM

what did you make stock

rhythmnsmoke 05-22-2009 04:18 AM

Tuning the N/A'ed 2az is definitely a must. The stock tune for the car sucks BIG ONES! At WOT it runs mid to low 12's A/F ratio. In 5th gear at WOT, it dips into the 11's. That's a tune I would have for a Turbo tC, not a N/A'ed one. Loosing all kinds of power that way. Ultra conservative from the factory.

I didn't do a stock dyno run but I'm sure there must be some numbers out there. I'm guessing it's about 147 WHP stock? Can anyone confirm that? Or get some real numbers?

rhythmnsmoke 06-15-2009 04:26 PM

No one still has setup the 2step launch on their N/A'ed tC? I'm working on mine right now (since I'm in between turbo kits and currently running N/A).

elcapetan 06-16-2009 05:24 AM

I've seen many stock tc dyno's and they have been around 140 whp and 150 wtq

rhythmnsmoke 06-16-2009 05:58 AM

^^+1

elcapetan 06-17-2009 06:27 AM

I should be getting my car tuned with ultimate very soon too!!! :)

rhythmnsmoke 06-17-2009 12:14 PM

What are your A/F ratios at WOT for those tuned on it N/A'ed?

Chaos_Being 07-10-2009 06:50 PM

Any updates? This is an interesting thread, other than a few reports of N/A tunes with Camcons, this is the first time I've seen someone post up actual gains tuning a N/A with bolt ons engine and actually getting some decent gains. I have seen a lot of "don't do that" comments when people would ask about it though...
