Nope, base hp was 136hp the evo 2 actually gained 5.6hp. With evo2 base dyno is 141hp.
yeah but the SP2 also gained close to that. I think you read what I typed wrong.

Hey GSCMotorsports.com... are you going to post the sound clip of the GReddy SP2 with the headers?

I bought their SP2 and it should be delivered today. I will get it installed this weekend and post sound clips with the Megan header and CC S-pipe. They are using the Evo2 which is hopefully a louder exhaust.

Great review. Best one I've seen so far.

The gains from "header only" should not surprise you - you are not just putting a header in, you are removing a catalytic converter. That's where the biggest gain comes from, I would suspect. And 6% hp and 4% tq is not that exciting, considering the car probably will not pass emissions, becomes several times louder and a bit stinkier ;)

we did not run an o2 sim or antifouler on the car during testing - just the oem o2 sensor in the oem spot

i drove the car home and back to the shop last night the check engine light just popped on when i pulled up this morning - we will probably put do the old antifouler mod in the near future i am sure

after driving the car for about 75 miles - i have come to the realization that it is obnoxiously loud with just the header, stock s pipe, stock b pipe and greddy evo2 axle pipe - raspy sounding - not very tolerable so we are going to look at options to quiet this thing down a bit

i can't say that it is just the combination of the alphawerks header into the mix that has made the sound so high pitched, from listening to the car on the dyno any header that we would have left on the car would have had the same resulting sound

I was just checking the NJ emissions tests:

http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/cleanair/odb.html

They do OBD testing - that could be fun

No biggie, MD does OBD tests. If you're car is newer than '98, they just hook your car up to make sure your smog equipment is functioning, no sniffer test. :D

If your car is not detecting a problem, the OBD test will be unaware and you'll pass. Simple.

kinda true

in MD, they do the hook up for the odb2, and usually put the sniffer to the exhaust pipe, but they dont pop the hood to inspect there....
