when you take off the factory header is the cat attached to the header and wont that screw up the emissions

the precat is built into the oem manifold.

yes it will "screw up the emissions"

New header means no pass on emissions, if they check like CA.

Here in Oregon, they just plug into the OBDII and if you have no CEL and a good O2 sim, it's really no big deal, unless they get nosey.

i have alright looked under the car and i do not see one. Every cat i have ever seen has a heat shield and i do not see anything under the car that has a heat shield

ok...its in the exhaust piping. its not hard to find. most cats are in the exhaust piping. if u read the first response to ur post, it refers to the cat in the header as a "precat". the reason it is called that is because it is before the main, or normal catalytic converter. just follow the piping with your eyes...and you should see the bulge of the catalytic converter in the piping of the exhaust
