Default Header Heat Shield

Ok this is a bit off topic.. i stumbled across another set of MMW headers and I was thinking about putting them on the car... but I can't stand the color and what will happen once they are burnt in...

Couple of questions here..

a.) Has anyone used the stock heat shield with these or any other headers? Can it be done? If so, I'll powdercoat it black like everything else in my car..

b.) If not, can the headers be painted with a high temp engine paint/thermal paint to black them out?

I have talked to Leo at MMW and he's not sure...

you can have the headers Gel Coated which would work. My turbo Manifold is gel coated black and it looks nice!

I would search for someone on SL who may gel coat for you?
