Default Header Help

I currently have the TRD CAI, Invidia S-pipe, Megan Midpipe with a 30" magnaflow resonator replacing one of the two the pipe came with, and the TRD Axleback.

Ive been looking for headers and I like the MMW Header but i also like the Megan. Which do you think is best for my setup? I understand that the MMW header comes with an S-pipe when I already have one but I figure ill just end up selling my old one if I go that road.

And I've been looking for sound clips and dyno sheets of people who might have close to the same setup as me so if anyone can find any that would help alot too.

Thx

if you get the MMW header then you need to use their s-pipe because it is short than the s-pipe that is currently in your car, i used to have have megan headers and they where cool but they bronzed up really quick and that wasn't good for shows. now i have DC headers and i like the look of the cemeric coating on them, as far as rasp both where the same even for sound and performance there wasn't a difference. but remember to get an anti-fouler to put on your s-pipe so your CEL light won't turn on.

Any comments on the Tsudo header? pretty much a cheap copy of MMW's

and as for the strup header, how much rasp is there with it?

megans is nice but im just affraid it wont last that long, considering the midpipe i got from them looked nice but the resonators in it are almost completly useless. theres just some metal with holes in it and no packing at all. im not sure if ill trust them again.

I could only vouch for the DC and MMW because DC is what i owned before my MMW. DC was good but i didnt like the tone it gave the exhaust (mind u i have a 20" resonator and a high flow cat). I was more pleased with the MMW gain throughout the power band (opposed to DC's high end gain only), but then again that was all butt dynos.

So if u ask me get a 4-2-1 header rather than 4-1 and i think you'll be more pleased.

Ya, i think everything i do more and more research i keep leaning to the MMW despite the price. Im not to worried about the tone cause i still have a 30" in resonator as well as one of the sh&%$ megan midpipe ones so hopefully that will take care of most raspyness.

I found the MMW header and s-pipe for 450 when everyone else sells it for around 600. im wondering if this site may lack in customer service or something because idk why they would sell it so cheap. anyone have any sites they have ordered from and trust that have the MMW????

I bought my MMW from wesellcarparts.com

if you go with the MMW I highly recommend buying from them. I don't think you can really go wrong with Tsudo or MMW..and IMO the MMW will look and sound better than the Megan.

I have MMW Header/Spipe and TRD exhaust and it sounds great..I get compliments all the time..its loud but not really that raspy

now i just gotta wait a couple more weeks so i can have the money lol

there are a couple of complaints. fitment's not great, it causes a couple of rattles, and it doesn't look blingy. but, those problems are easily overcome.
i had the mmw connected to a skunk2 and a lot of people, scion and non-scion walk up to me and asked what i had. keep in mind my skunk2 had almost no mods done to it to make it sound better. just a cat so i don't suffocate at idle

^ I think it sounds fine...my setup kinda grew on me

Arodd - as far as I know the only one that had fitment issues was the 1st version of the header..so as long as he buys a new one he'll be fine. Its a PITA to install compared to other headers out there (mainly because you have to take out the fans while installing it then put them back in) but otherwise the fitment is fine

you have a stock mid though right?

i have a megan mid and that alone with the trd and invidia s-pipe was raspy....i dont even wanna know how much i would have with the header, or if the 30" resonator i put in will be enough

ohhh ok..i missed the part about your midpipe.

Yeah my midpipe is stock...sorry lol

But just about any setup with a header/spipe/midpipe combo is gonna sound raspy as hell though

skunk2 only makes a catback for us. the axleback portion won't line up to the stock midpipe.
