Default Header Question

Hi guys i'm new to these forums so yeah. ok so my question is about getting header.

So my current set up is injen cai, and i have a trd exhaust with a megan mid pipe. im planning on getting weapon r header and i know its going to be raspy so im going to be adding a resonator. The primary reason im getting header is because i want it to be loud. so my question is will adding a resonator muffle the loud ness of the header alot so it sounds like i have no header and only a catback?. or will it still be as loud but have a deeper tone.

Thanks in advance

Does the megan mid pipe have a resonator on it already? And obviously putting a resonator on something will cause it to be quieter. With these cars if you want loud you'll get rasp. Trade one for the other. Honestly the tC sounds like crap being "ZOMG JDM LOUD" with rasp.

Youtube's your friend here. Just youtube like "scion tc exhaust". Or if you wanna get specific look up "scion tc greddy ti-c" or "scion tc hks hi power". Those are some of my personal favorites

if you want loud, lots of rasp will come with it,esp if you add a header, adding a resonator will only quiet it down, run a straight pipe from the header back if you want loud inculding the header itself, then youll think twice about being loud

ok thank you guys for all the info. but my main question is will adding a header with a resonator still be louder then just having a just a full catback. because if it is the same loudness i might as well not put in the header and save the trouble.

I think so actually. My friend had a no name axleback that sounded pretty good, had that little pop. Then he added a full tsudo header back exhaust that had a resonator in the midpipe with an ebay no name header and it was louder. Mostly because theres quite a bit more air being displaced thanks to the bigger header that your putting on. But even with a resonator you run the risk of rasp. But good axlebacks will help out get rid of the rasp as well as give you a nice deep tone

well you got the trd exhaust, which isnt meant to be loud in the first place, its chambered, get a straight through exhaust which will be alot louder and deeper, along with the megans midpipe, then get a downpipe, and your good to go,but if you get the header with your current setup ill be loud but not as loud as it could be since you have trd,

yeah i see what you mean. i just wanted something louder then my full catback setup without rasp. and with a deep tone. so headers with a resonator will be louder then a full catback right?

sorry if i feel like im repeating the questions just dont want to commit to buying headers and regreting it later.

my opion ditch the trd exhaust, and get a straight through exhaust, then get a downpipe, that alone minus the header will be nice and deep and loud, once you add a header, some are louder and raspier then others depending on the exhaust you choose, then youll be adding resonators to quiet it down if you choose too, cause the megans one dont do anything,

im personally running the megans drift spec with a downpipe, its very loud, not raspy at all,ive added a header but way to loud for me,and i didnt want to chop of my midpipe to add resonators, just wasnt worth it too me,cause youll gain more sound then performance...

2.5" is too big for a naturally aspirated motor, it will cause a lot of rasp.

^^^not sure about that since most people if they add s-pipe its with headers....
i have weapon-r header/s pipe w/ megan full catback exhaust and i added the biggest resonator to my exhaust to prevent rasp....its just barely louder than when it was just the catback due to the resonators but still plenty loud
