How do you disconnect the 02 sensor from the header? I am trying to take the heat shield off so I can get it powdercoated black along with my greddy air diversion panel.

 

Unscrew it... I think it's a 22 mm... but be SUPER careful doing it and wait for the car to SUPER cool down, as many people have stripped that baby out trying to remove it.

I'm doing the same with my GReddy panel.... sick of cleaning and polishing it all the time... I'm also going to do a bunch of other stuff while I'm at it... Trying to Black out my engine bay...

 

haha, thats funny, I'm planning on painting mine as well. Not really sure what the steps would be on how to do it though. Does it require sanding, or can I just paint over it? All info is greatly appreciated, unless its retarded info. lol

 

Go to th auto parts store, they have a tool that made to remove the 02 sensor. rent it for 10 bucks, then return it. the autozone by me has it anyways.

 

Why would you need a tool to remove it? It just unscrews...

Painting the panel could be done by wetsanding it and priming/spraying... but powdercoating is Much Much more resilient and effective, plus is better for anything exposed to any possible heat. I'm going to powdercoat a couple pieces in my bay, to get them up and colormatched and clean...

 

WeDriveScions, what else do you plan on powdercoating in your engine bay?

 

Anything I can.... Strut Bar, Intake, Headers-if possible, oil cap, battery tiedown, and a few more additions that will be powdercoated to match later... Tanks, "Other" piping, and some detail pieces... I want a really clean engine bay...
