I think that's the case when there is no resonator. From what I've read a 30" resonator will eliminate most, if not all, of the 'header rasp.'

my friend has OBX Racing headers with the s pipe and the trd exhaust..and it doesnt sound that good. he just recently eliminated the resonator and it got louder and doesnt sound well. If i were you i wouldn't get the TRD exhaust. id go for the greddy evo 2 or the hks or injen and get some MMW headers or the DC SPORT headers.

It seems they do not make the TRD exhaust for any setup except CAI and exhaust, or with the supercharger. I had an 03 corolla, put on the TRD exhaust, had a CAI, and then added a dc header and wow, it sounded baaad. I then got the supercharger, and it sounded much better. I wonder if they tuned the TRD exhaust for a certain setup?

IMO, I dont really give a damn about the rasp. People can laugh all they want but my car pulls so thats all that matters to me. Just personal preference like someone said.

Agreed, we're talking about 4 cyl motors. They are not going to sound like a mustang or camaro. If you can deal with the rasp, then go for it.

So a 4-1 dc or megan header will do w/ a trd exhaust + the resonator.. Should have little to none problem?

I agree with you too. It's just my own preference not to have the rasp sound. I mean if you get the headers with a different exhaust besides the TRD then it wont sound that bad. but theres a certain level of rasp that i can take. MY friend has the obx header and s pipe no resonator and the trd exhaust... and it really doesnt sound good. You'd have to hear it and trust me you wouldn;t like the rasp sound.
