Default Header or tune up?

I have Injen Intake and TRD Axelback right now

im thinking of getting the tsudo 421 exhaust and agency power pulley to get more hp and torque out of my engine.

my friend suggested to get a tune up instead.

Which is best bang for the buck to say i have $500 around to spend?

no i don't care about "saving up for a turbo" because:

1) im still in college right now i don't have $6000 on a turbor kit
2) i rather use that money ($5000 + sell my car) on a 350z with twin turbo.

you dont have to spend 6k on a kit,you can piece together one,or buy a decent used one in the classified area under 3k....

i have every single bolt on for the scion...including pullies, its make a lil bit difference, but not huge, after awhile, your gonna want more power,

get the tsudo header, and midpipe along with a s-pipe,with the trd axle back, thats where youll get your main power from, from a free flowing exhaust, then the crank pullie, add about 5 hp if at that, ill make the car pull a lil harder, but thats all

"Still in college." Don't try and build/own a car you can't afford to blow up and rebuild.

lol 6k you should do some more research like said above classified is a good place to start you can usaly find a complete kit for 2k or less used ready to install run sftly on about 6-10psi and feel way better than any bolt on like exhaust and header for all motor.
say you plan on going turbo later you just spent money on headers that you will not use and a intake you will not used but up to you.

forced induction is addicting tho!!!!

tuning was the best mod for me. it changed the driving characteristics of the car. i was running rich with all the bolt-ons before. at w.o.t. the stock ecu is rich.

Take care of the maintenance, then take a serious driving class.
It doesn't matter how fast your car is if you can't drive it safely.
I thought I was a good driver until I did my first autocross event and finished very close to the basement.
On the other hand, after four years of driving school and competing, my wife and I were saved this year from spinning into tollway traffic by my training.

1. a tune is not a tune up, your car isnt broken
2. how would you spend 5k to get a 350z if you just said you dont have the money to boost?
3. dont tune a car unless its boosted
4. if you want to spend money and notice the difference, modify your suspension

tune an n/a with just an intake an exhaust set up? if you have the money to get management then go ahead, but the Op noted his budget. the gains will be so minimal with that setup it wouldn't be worth it

just get a header and call it a day. its cheaper and you'll get about the same gains....almost nothing

Is your maintenance up to date?
The cheapest route is rarely the best way to go.

You can't get a piggy back and custom tune for $500.
I got my car tuned on emanage with only exhaust last year, so I'm all for tuning. However your budget I'd say megan mid and the nst pulley set, maybe? Also find used parts... Save some cash for some beers during installing.
