Default Header Wrap

Summer is almost here and over the winter I put on my weapon r header. I live in las vegas so heat is a really big issue to me. I was wondering what kind on header wrap is the best, or what brands have you guys used that you like, or where is a good place to buy some.

Definately go with a ceramic coating a little bit more pricey but well worth it in the long run

I don't think the brand really matters, here's a tip, dip the wrap in water, it will make it easier to install, try it and you'll see what I mean, good luck.

yes, i had a dc-sport header that was on for 2 yrs and was rusting. i sent in to jet-hot and they sand blast the rust and old coating off and apply their coating. you can get all diffrent colors too.

Just wondering would you be able to do that on stock?... not that I want to or anything.... haha I mean keeping in all that heat won't crack the headers right?

you can on a stock header, but its kind of pointless because you have the heat shield. unless you want it just for show. the header wont crack, like i said ive had mine over a year and red line almost every other day with no issues.

i think they charged me $225 for the coating and i got it back in less than a week.

Wrapping will jsut keep a lot of heat out of the engine bay,it is great for older not nice looking headers, but not really something you would want to do with a fairly new one.Try Jethot coating first,it works great and from what I understand keeps out some of the heat form motor bay too.

the heat wrap will lead to premature cracking of the header as well it rusting. Don't do it. Go buy some heat rated paint from Autozone/NAPA/Advanced Auto etc. Then spray it on and then put it in the oven (generally required to seal paint of that sort properly) and profit. Jet hot is a rip off IMO.

yes they can coat them even on used parts... like what was stated... they prep the part before coating regardless. Please do NOT wrap your header....not a good move. it would seriously shorten the lifespan of your header.... is there an advantage to wrapping a header? Sure...NASCAR and other pro-racing teams do....but they also have much larger budgets for replacing parts... the part that no one tells you when you see under the hood of a race car is that, that wrapped header will be trashed and need to be replaced literally every few races.
Jet Hot is a great coating place to go with....hell they even have contracts with the US military to coat exhaust parts on aircraft. So if the coating holds up to that extreme... its going to last a long time on a header for a car.

Yeah I had mine coated by JetHot and if your looking for that heat difference i think this would be the way to go. You dont have to risk damaging your header and it just looks really good.
