Default Headers or intake?

So I've been doing a lot of looking on this website and many others and I cant make up my mind. At first I was looking at intakes and their proformance gains and sound. I found the post of all the intakes that were compared and I thought wow thats great now I know which one to buy. Then I thought well what a pain in the butt, I have to take the intake off and put it back on in between inspections. Then I started looking at headers. If I get a 4-1 it can easily be consealed behind the stock sheild and no one would notice. The more I looked the better I felt about it. The proformance was better but there were a few draw backs. First the headers are more expensive and require a longer instalation peroid. Second and this is very important, I already have a TRD exaust, which sounds good, but I am afraid that if I get new headers it will sound to ricey. I do not want to sound too loud its just not my style.

So there is my delema. I have a TRD exaust and want to know what will sound the best and proform the best with it, but I do not really want to take my intake in and out over and over again and I do not want to sound ricey.

So what do you guys think will be best for me, intake or headers, and which ones do you guys use/perfer.

nope. i personally dont like the trd at all, headers or not, but with headers i say its the worst sounding exhaust.

get yourself a cold air intake and forget the headers for now cause it's gonna sound bad and raspy with the TRD exhaust. you can get either Fujita or Injen and it will feel abit better than just headers and exhaust. i know cause i did headers before intake and the car was laggin it.

at least with the intake...your car will have more of a growl and still sound good whereas with a header...rasp and much louder, higher pitched sound...Injen makes a great, and well priced intake...very good quality, then you have Fujita and AEM which the AEM has the bypass valve for those afraid of hydrolock

you will get more gains with a header. But itll be more expensive to make the car sound good with it on. A Big resonator will clean all the ricey fart can noise right up.

ya as soon as i put my headers on it was annoying. well let me rephrase that. around 2500-3500 it makes a really loud raspy vibrating sound. sounds like a dang fart can.

If you have extra cash to get rid of the rasp. I would recommend getting the header because you can actually feel the little gain depending on the header. If you just want your car to sound nice get the intake.

i have cheap headers and i noticed the same a good power diff. all headers reduce backpressure you just pay more for better welds.metal and all that junk.
