not a dumb question, but megan released a catted header a loooong time ago, bad things happened, the cat fell off into the mid pipe and blah blah blah now they only offer the not catted one.

 

Oh I see... I'd just rather not have to put my stock one back on whenever I need to smog it...

 

does anyone have a soundclip or vid clip of a full exhaust setup without a resonator? i.e. headers, s-pipe, midpipe and axleback? i'm curious to see how loud/raspy it really is without true resonators..

 

There should be some on youtube. have you tried that? I use youtube a lot for this sorta thing

tomorrow (sunday) i will have my full exhaust (header, spipe, midpipe, axel)

it does have a res BUT its only a 10 in. so it will be very close to no res... i'll post up a clip as soon as i can

crossing my fingers for something i can live with or its off to the muffler shop for a better res

 

^ cool thanks, i'm wanting to get headers to complete the exhaust but the fact that you need a resonator welded on to supress the noise kinda sucks, i just wanted to go with the full bolt on stuff but we'll see

so i got my set up going today.
those of you who arnt familiar its
dc header
megan spipe
tsudo n1 catback with 10 in cherry bomb

and

it sounds great! at least to me
rasp is almost no where to be heard under load! in neutral is a different story but even then its not so bad
yes its pretty loud BUT it sounds good. nice low growl with a slight burble on deceleration

will try to have a clip ASAP

 

My rasp is mainly heard at WOT. I actually love the sound of my setup. All Megan Racing products from the header back....

 

I have the DME header, 2.5" custom header back system, with a 40" resonator that has a 2.25" inlet and outlet and I cheap cat, with a magnaflow exhaust at the end.

Here's a sound clip, its kinda crappy cause i used my phone, but when driving around sounds really good, hardly any rasp, at least i don't notice it anymore.

I want to get some headers even though I may go with a turb setup later... but I dont know If I want to cut up my exhaust to add a cat and another resonator...

 

not worth the hassle at all. save the money for more turbo fun!
