Default headers, spipe, mid pipe WHATVER?!

ok.. i have an INJEN SES axelback exhaust and was just wondering a few things..

-if i just got headers without the spipe midpipe...that would be absolutely useless...?
-assuming i got the whole shabazz.. headers, spipe and mid pipe, would it work well with my Injen axelback exhaust?

man this stuff is confusing.. lemme know!

1) Raspy as in you can easily tell you've had a cat deleted. Overall exhaust volume increases 3-4 times.

With the whole shabang, extremely loud and raspy. You'll likely have to set your radio volume to 30 or above just to hear noise over the exhaust.

I had a megan header, and then uninstalled it. Not worth it to me. I have to put 25k miles a year on the car, and I don't want to be ashamed to get on it.

2) Yes, you will see an increase in power with any single mod as well as a combination. Combinations of mods tend to work better... the whole might be greater than the sum of the parts.

An s-pipe is just that, an s-pipe. Heres how it goes form the exhaust amnifold:

Header-s-pipe-midpipe-axleback.

In combination with all of it, you will see the most gains. I know, i did it all seperatly before and started add until it was fully complete.

If you buy a header, then go with either the MMW / Weapon-R ( comes with the s-pipe ) or go with alpherk and you can get a ZPI s-pipe ( www.ZPIracing.net ) wich is very nice.

ZPI also sells the midpipe on there site, which like MOST will eliminate the cats. however, if you live in an area that dosnt care about SMOG then dont worry.

I would also suggest getting either ( 1 ) 30' Magnaflow straight through resanator or ( 2) 15-18' resonators back 2 back welded into the midpipe through a local Muffler shop.

DAMN...that ZPI has some serious markup. $300 for about $50 worth of bends and flanges??? I've never understood why markup is so high in the import market.

Its not crush bent from your local muffler shop. And its also really hard to find any shops that offer mandrel bending. ( i only know of 2 in florida )

...and i dont know were you get 50 dollars in bends from, lol.

consider material, labor, cost of machine ( do you know how much a mandrel bender is? ) list can go on. some may see high markup, i see only a couple companies offering this. smart busisness? i think so...

Yeah, I buy my own mandrel bends and weld them up myself. My point was, it's just a pipe, mandrel or not, it's not expensive and labor is cheap (they don't even have to weld it together like me!).

There's no resonator, either. Just not my thing. But go ahead and talk to me like I don't know what I'm talking about. It's cool.

And yes, last I heard a mandrel bender was about 50k...I've personally never seen a shop with one, ever. Most places I've seen outsource the mandrel bending.
