Ok on friday i was going to work when i heard a loud knocking sound. Like something was lose. So i turnd back to go home. Halfway there my car was sluggish in accelartion but changed gears. Then i heard a loud knock then my tc was dead i came to a stop, pop the hood and the headers where red. the tc would not turn on at all.. anyone know what it is and if so how much it would cast.

u blew the motor. that happend the same exact way to me on my camry.

 

so for a new one how much and what happen to the ZPI website so can get there engine

 

ZPI has been out of business, most shady people ever!

New engine from the dealer, a pretty penny!

id say try to find a good condition maybe outa wrekced tc, theres no fixing it and even if it could the money youll spend you might as well get a new engine

that idk def a few grand i got lucky in my camry becasue my uncle is a mechanic for toyota so he was able to put a 01 solara engine in my 98cam for only 1300 but that was just a verry lucky day

 

not sure if autozone stocks them yet but you can get a new warrantied engine for most cars from them for about 1500-3000 depending on the application
