Help!
Ok, so my friend is having some issues with his tC:
The day before Thanksgiving, his oil light came on, and he pulled over and checked the oil, and it looked fine. Then he got home, and added oil, and checked for signs of leakage, but there weren't any.
That weekend, he heard a loud bang, and the car died. He then said that when you pushed the clutch in, the lights would dim, like an alternator problem, but clearly it wasn't one.
He took it to the shop, and they said that his crank was split and the engine had seized, and they want $10G to fix it.
Does this sound like anything anyone has been through? Before the damage is looked at, are there any places to get a long or short block from online?

hmm.. now i wonder if the rod bearing on #1 is in pieces.. (that i've seen a few cases happening)
btw, engines can usually be found thru junkyards.. i don't know of any in your area though.. you'll have to search around. you may be able to find a place online.
