Default help, getting new exhaust

i was wondering what kind of quality i would get from cheaper ebay exhausts, lets say $300. or should i just get something more expensive and do it myself.
keep in mind i dont wanna loose my warranty. i just want something that sounds good but also wouldnt cost me too much.
thanks
ps i love these forums, i just bought my brand new tc
came with tint and 18" wheels

I dont think exhaust will void your warranty but if you want to be the safest get the trd exhaust and i hope you got your stock wheels also with the car since you upgraded.

you should really search around the forums here for exhausts - there's a whole exhaust buyer's guide and everything.

to get you started, you should decide why you want the exhaust system: sound, performance, looks, affordability, expandability . . .

for instance, I just got an injen exhaust system for my tc. it's not the best for performance, but I personally like the way it looks and sounds, so it fits my purposes well.

if you're planning on adding parts like an exhaust header and cold air intake, you might want to look into which parts perform/sound best together. I love the way the injen exhaust sounds by itself, but if I add a header to the engine, it'll sound like crap.

oh also, be warned that everyone thinks that the exhaust they have on their car sounds the best of all brands. So beware that everyone's biased - especially those who have "sponsored by xxx exhaust company" in their posting signatures

I think it's good to watch videos (like on youtube) of TCs with the various exhausts installed. that lets you hear how they'll probably sound on your car. Also, search through the posts here to see which perform the best (if that's important to you).

Cool, another person from my home state SC, I just installed the Magnaflow cat back on my tC, currently creating a video to upload to youtube. Great sound, not raspy or Honda sounding, just a deep/quiet grumble. Sounds great with my Injen CAI, I got mine from here http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:...lnk&cd=5&gl=us it says current sales price is $413, but at the cart is actually $387 b/c of a store discount. Until I create my vid you can go here http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/sportsound/05tc.html and see what it sounds like as well.

Ouch!
I never said it was "the best" i used to have the HKS...then i was fortunate to be sponsored by this great company...and i can say that it has a 12whp gain...and for our engine...that's pretty good for a catback only! I just offer my piece to those who are looking for an exhaust and show them the videos i have as a way of helping them get an idea of the exhaust. Way before i was sponsored by ARK...i still promoted them and their exhausts...good product

haha i didn't mean to seriously offend you, it just reminded of how exhaust threads like this always tend to be flooded by people pushing the products they have/are sponsored by.

the ark seems like a good exhaust and the ark rep who posts here seems like a good guy.
