Help Please~~
I just recently went through an Auto Carwash with my lowered tC, (yeah i regret that now -_-) as i drove through it, there was a bump that i had to go through, and i ended up clipping something under my car. After that i felt like something was loose because every time i shift it would make a clipping sound. also every time if i just lift up the clutch without gassing the car makes a similar sound. I went home and checked out the whole exhaust system (header(stock),s-pipe(stock),midpipe(megan),axleback(megan), nothing was loose, so i was wondering if i screwed up my tranny? Any thoughts? Thank You.
How low are you? Check your whole transaxle. Might want to go to the dealer or a tranny shop and have them take a look.
Since you make it sound as though it's related to shifting, I'd be concerned about the linkage, but that doesn't seem consistent with the description of the issue.
also, I bet you would get more 'qualified' traffic to your post if you made the title more descriptive, jmo
good luck.
fwiw, I have a mount on my cai that walks itself loose every once in a while, and makes a 'engagement' related sound. It's nothing to do with engine engagement, really, but it does make a tapping sound as the motor rocks back and forth. I guess a damper would help that a bit, huh?
anyhow, check the engine bay for anything that may be loose, then look underneath as well. it could be something simple and unrelated.

there's a good chance. large metal tubes can make quite a noise when something taps them.
pop the hood, and have a friend rev the engine while you watch it.

If you have any way to record the sound so i can hear it over the web, please do so. It's really difficult for me to tell what your describing without hearing it. Even then, I might not be able to tell you what it is, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable would.
It sounds to me as though your 'air' sound may be your intake.
It also seems like you're concerned there's a transaxle issue, in which case I would recommend that you have a professional take a look.
That sound you hear does it happen when you let off the gas just right theres a rushing air sound? I'm pretty sure its a normal thing with the tC. My friend's does it and mine does it if i play with the throttle just right. What i think happends is the throttle body is made in such a way that the sound you hear is supposed to happen it supposed to sound like a CAI. Now i could be totally wrong but from what it sounds like this is what ive had experience with.
You should get under there and make sure it didnt take off any of the bolts that hold the subframe that your engine and tranny mount to. Or damage any of the brackets themselves. That would make it move around when you engage, or disengage power, and could also make a sound from steering one way or the other as the ram is mounted to the sub frame on our cars also if i remember correctly.
first of all, thank you guys so much for replying. second, i'm gonna jack it up again tomorrow morning and check things out, i'll prolly do a little record if i cant find out what the problem is. I might just change the CAI to a short ram and see if it still does it, if it does then it's not the intake cuz the injen version of short ram on the tc is Very tight, cant move at all cuz i had it that way before. But thanks again for all the advices and ideas, appreciated guys.
