magnaflow ftw, sounds amazing, quiet at idle but noticable during acceleration.

i have one, its barely more audible in the drivers seat at idle.
with a cold air intake at WOT its nice , no rasp. stays fairly quiet in normal driving until you punch down on the gas.

anyone know?
i THINK its to help keep the sound down on idle and it opens higher in the range to flow more freely at WOT
anyone else?

The valve is for reducing backpressure at full throttle.

It actually adds a few horsepower... versus not being there and having a solid disk.

It also adds backpressure at lower RPMs. Something to do with "exhaust pulse tuning", in the pursuit of a quiet exhaust sound.

quiet reliable axle back = tanabe concept g, havent hear PM though

people said dezod and other catbacks, if u want quiet, stay with axle back

lol i just had an idea...i have 2 stock exhausts. Im tempted to gut one...and see what it sounds like lol....na its worth too much

Good idea. I'd like to hear what the stock one hollowed out sounds like.



So the axle back is just a couple bolts? I might try to put my new one (probably Precision Muffler) on myself in that case.

One more vote for the Magnaflow catback, sounds nice n easy with daily driving and when you give it some gas you get the nice little growl. Only bad part is cutting the stock midpipe.
