Default HKS Exhaust

hello, fellow scion members, i purchased a HKS Hi-power exhaust ssytem just recently and i installed and i love the way it sounds and it is great, just wondering since it isnt a full cat-back exhaust how much hp gain do i get, if any. If i get a turbo kit to match with it, which is my plan, woiuld it effect it in any positive or negative way? what else should i get before purchaasing a tuirbo kit... thanks!

what you should do is look into purchasing a midpipe, then you'll feel more HP, as for when you get a turbo kit, you should be fine w/ the midpipe and HKS, b/c the turbo kit will connect to that, dont bother w/ an Spipe and header b/c ur turbo kit replaces it.

but the hks is fine for turbo. IMO

for a midpipe you can check out ZPI, they offer a pretty good product, or for cheap, just go to a local shop, they'll probably hook one up for you there for cheap, but depends, some exhaust shops are strict about cats, and will only make a midpipe foryou if it has a catalyitic converter...which blocks exhaust flow....since your in cali, this will probably happen to you....so online is your best bet. The S-pipe, connects to your midpipe and the to your header. The stock S pipe has lots of bends and curves making it really restrictive on the stock exhaust. On a turbo, it comes witha downpipe, which connects to your midpipe, or s pipe im not sure, im having a brain fart right now sorry lol...hope this helps.

Don't get headers or an s-pipe, a turbo will replace ur stock ones so it will just be a waste of money (sorry, had to say it again.) As for mid-pipe, get the Megan Racing mid-pipe, it eliminates the secondary cat and if you get pulled over, they won't pay attention to that cuz all they're looking for is the cat that is RIGHT at the bottom of ur stock headers.

The cheapest I've seen the mid-pipe was on a website for only $175-$195 free shipping. I bought mine on eBay for like $280 cuz I didn't know about the site and it was a real waste of money cuz I could've saved $100. The mid-pipe comes with two small resonators built-in but they won't do much, if it is too loud then just go to a muffler shop and have them put on some new, bigger resonators for you.

My set up is
Alphawerks Headers
ZPI S-pipe
Megan Mid-pipe w/Two 18" resonators
HKS exhaust
Injen CAI

the set up was REALLY loud without the resonators but with them, it's managable. Hope this helps! Oh, and when it comes to the turbo, get either GReddy or Turbonetics, cuz they're bolt on with preprogrammed "chips"!
