Default hks hi power universal

I just bought a universal HKS Hi Power muffler becasue I am going to get custom piping done locally. The one i bought was 170mm shell, 120mm tip, and 75 mm inlet. My question is will that fit? THe others ive seen ( searched the site) , people are using ones with a 60mm inlet. Will a 75 mm inlet work?

well if your doing custom piping then anything will work. 75mm i believe is 3" so you will need to either make all 3" piping (if your going F/I) or reduce it to 2.5" if your staying NA.

yeah i was just wondering becasue im not going F/I. I know 3" is used for that. So i can reduce it to 2.5, thats good

All depends on who you go to. I paid $200 from the s-pipe back with a resonator I bought for $50 and had them put on, and I already had the TRD exhaust. But I think it all depends on who you go, start calling places up and try and get some quotes.

try to return the muffler and get the smaller one.

the one you purchased is for turbo applications, hence the larger inlet/muffler, you need the smaller muffler so you dont end up losing more power than you should.

Even though it has almost a 3" inlet, could i still get 2.5" piping done?

you can get 2inch piping, but that doesnt change the fact that your core will still be so large.

its not worth it to put the muffler on, it might look good to you, but you will end up losing low end power.

they are all different sizes.

i would recomend sticking with something that has either a 2.25 or 2.5 inch core, any larger will be poinltess

good job with the order.

as far as the HKS made for ours, i have no clue, i have never been a fan of that style HKS design, it doesnt look the best imho.

however hte the universal mufflers are much better, and you can place them however you like.

i just came back from the local muffler shop..
so... the price is hiiiiigh!

they want to charge me $80 for midpipe
$120 for K magnaflow resonator (??)
and 120 for the pipe from the resonator to my muffler

so everything is $340

theay are not cheap :D

Btw he said dont go with the 2.25 pipe because its going to sound like the Honda's!!! :D

2.5 FTW!

oh somone tell me the hks Hi Ti has the same colored (purp;e/blue) tip?

just like the carbon ti, right??
and how long is the muffler?? 13 inch or 18???

he wants to charge me $120 only for the resonator.
so i think to get one from ebay.... OBX resonator:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-H...mZ260080941094

this should be good, right?

so the pipeing would be 200....
