Default HKS or Megan setup really low ground clearance?

Ok, I've seen some pics of the HKS or Megan, not sure which one it is, setup and it looks horrible for ground clearance. The connector pipe to mid pipe runs under the rear supenstion brace really low. Anyone have any pics? Maybe this guy had it installed wrong?

That's the Megan, although it looks like his is worse than mine by far. He must have the original version or it's installed wrong.

That's what I was thinking. Hitting a manhole around my area would tear that damn thing right off.......

Hey Brian, are you just on the Megan?

Or do you have headers installed too?

I'm really considering on buying the Megan after watching
your video. Sounds like it has no rasp and it has the bold
rumble sound I love to hear on exhaust's.

Do you think it was all worth it?
I'm about to be dropped on S-Tech's and I was wondering
if you have no clearance issues also.

no clearance issues whatsoever and i'm dropping on tein basics set about halfway down. if anything you should be worried about the front scrapping, not the exhaust. and no i dont have headers or downpipe, just the catback, which is why no rasp.

I have the whole setup.

I'm on hotchkis springs, and the only clearance prob. I have is the s-pipe, you have to be carefull going down curbs in reverse (like a drive way) or you will do like me and put a small ding in it. it ____ed me off but I was pretty amazed at the strength of the tube.

as far as rasp, yes you will have it, at first you will hate it, its overbearing with rasp. but once your gaskets smooth over, and your exhaust breaks in it gets rid of alot of it. I love the sound of it now that I have about 5000 miles on it. it is extremely loud, I cant describe how loud it is, but you can hear me 4-5 blocks away under meduim throtle. so if you don't want your car to be loud, I don't recomend you do it.

oh and it sounds like complete crap with the silencer, so I just deal with the noise and crank up the tunes.

megan racing header, megan racing s-pipe, megan racing drift spec "cat back" exhaust.

the reason it so loud is that it is 2.5" piping with only a 30" resonator and open flow muffler so there is very little restriction and sound dampning.

the reason I hit was that I didn't pull out of my drive way at an angle and went a little fast. it didn't cause any real damage and is nothing to be concerned about.

ground clearance issues will hapen anytime you lower a car were I live. I live in colorado and big dips and large speed bumps are just part of the area. in cali I amagine its not even half as bad.

I wouldn't worry about the exhaust clearance any more than the other parts of the car, just remember to go slow over bumps and dips and sideways if you have to. you'll be fine.

HKS is fine. I'm lowered on S techs and just the other day entering a parking lot i scraped the HELL outta the front but the back didn't make a single noise, even with the huge HKS canister out back....

these pics suck but if you look at the s-pipe real close you can see were it took the hit. they were taken back in april by the way and some before the drop. but the only parts that aren't tucked are the s-pipe (shouldn't have a problem at all) and the axle back wich is the stock location and the low part of it is right at the rear axle so unless you go over a speed bump completely horazontal you won't have any problems at all.
as you can see my mid pipe frame support I had to use risers and longer bolts cause the pipe was rattling due to its size. and most of the exhaust is tucked in the channel.

pic three shows the s-pipe back,
pic five shows axle back to s-pipe.
pic four is:
the spot on the s-pipe is the glared v-spot, you can see the light scrape from the movement and jounce of the suspension when it happend.
pic 1 is the engine bay 5 months ago, just wanted to show you the header.
pic 2 was supposed to be the rear exit of the muffler and rear axle before I lowered the car. doesnt' show what you want anyway.

I did right after the install. didn't want to get the camera wet.

and you don't see under there much, unless I take it to a show and bust out the mirrors.

I do need to update the underhood pic.
that one is freakin old.
