Default How much "power" really?

So I currently have an Injen CAI and Injen SES exhaust and I was thinking about getting megan mid and s pipe with some headers and I was wondering will the increase in power be actually noticeable? I have no interested in ever super charging or turboing, but would it be worth adding these mods?

If you add an emanage Ultimate and get everything professionally tuned, you might be able to get close to 200hp.

Although, going SC, or even a low boosting turbo kit would be close to the same price and yield better results.

How so? I personally know several people with tuned N/A setups that made VERY close to 200whp.

There are many Turbo kits selling right now for close to 2k, so the price is also very close....

your gonna need more then an exhaust, CAI and a tune to get to 200hp.. thats some wishful thinking.

They might have some motor work done. But with just an intake and exhaust? No way. tCPete was VERY close to 200hp, but he had motor work done with no tune. If he would have been tuned, then he would have been over 200. But with the typical I/H/E setup, you won't be anywhere close to that.

It all depends on the type of dyno you plan on using. A stock tC is rated at 160hp, while a dyno of that same tC will read in the 130's-140's.

In that thread, Paul gained almost 50hp from his N/A setup...

He dyno'ed at 179, however, if you're judging stock hp from the factory standpoint (which is what pretty much everyone judges as few people have stock results to compare), he actually overshot 200hp...

tuned with all bolt-ons i would say about 175whp to the crank TOPS!! i will finally know when i do get tuned at the end of the summer with Greddy Blue because Ulitmate is not required for this type of work, as for S/C and turbo Ultimate does come in handly instead of the AEM FI/C.

like you said in the preivous post, click on the link and my number was very close to what others said because i know, i've done my research but then again every tune and car is different although it's the same motor just treated different.

Comprehension my friend... comprehension.

If you are referring to WHEEL HORSEPOWER, the guy made 179 hp. That's a 50hp gain over the stock tC's 130 hp.

If you are referring to CRANK HORSEPOWER, the guy made over 200 hp.

If you were to ask the average person how much hp a tC has, they would tell you the Crank horsepower. That's the HP given out for nearly all car data. A 50hp increase over 160hp is over 200...

At this point, we're arguing semantics, so I'm done. I posted the info and the facts to go along with it.

With a tune and an emanage, N/A setups can achieve 50 additional hp.

ok first of all scionunderground...you should read more of that post because it explains a lot more than what you are stating. He posted 179 whp (wheel horse power) not flywheel hp which is rated on an engine dyno with the engine pulled out of the car...this is what the stock numbers come from. so his 179 is an increase of possibly 39whp...and that's with more than i/h/e as he posted, it had a tune...also, that number was done on a dynapack which is very forgiving to actual numbers most of the time. I hope this helps you understand the difference between whp and hp to the crank or flywheel. Now, with Paul's setup, if he was to pull the engine and do an engine dyno, i guess he would be around the 200hp to the crank...but not to the wheels. The majority of horsepower discussions will stem from WHP as this is all us people can afford and have the time for.
