Default How to pass Emissions?

I know there are different threads about emissions, but those are just questions asking will I pass if I have this or that which is not what this thread is about... Anyways...

If anyone knows a way they passed emissions with no cat , please share it with everyone...

yea.. emission standards vary state to state..

but the sure way to pass... is to not mess with anything in the first place.

If they do OBD only (plug in under dash, start car) you're probably golden as long as you're not throwing codes.

But if they do a rolling test with a tube on the tailpipe, you might have problems if you're well modded..

not o be a wise a$$, i pretty sure it's not the cop getting on his back on the side of the road to check under his car..... it might have something to do with that little sticker that needs to be on your windshield!

There is no way, if you go get your car inspected and they probe you; you will pass. Without a cat your hydrocarbons will be through the roof!! expessially so if your turboed and running larger injectors.

Really the only way to get inspected is to know someone... a friend that will pass you. What you will need is your vin # a buddy with a stock tc, and a good friend that will work his magic!

some states require u to pass an emissions test every year its not the cops u have to worry about.. luckily we dont have those here and not in michigan apparently either

If you did, you could always just replace the cat before the inspection, then remove it after

you could always return to stock intake header and exhaust parts and do a ecu reset to make sure no CEL comes on.

or register your car in a different state that has no emission testing

you have to show residents to register in a state. your best bet would be to return back to stock... get your sticker and put it all back on!

If your state plugs the computer up to your OBDII port you will fail or they will tell you to bring it back once you put more miles on your car. Even if you reset the ecu the computer will state how many miles since last reset and also state how many emissions test it has completed (self monitor test built in to ecu). When you reset the ecu it usually takes anywhere 100-250 miles for all the test to complete so it is really difficuilt to trick the ecu.

in utah it's a visual inspection to verify there is a cat. I see it as a safety risk to officers to be doing an full on inspection of peoples cars. I cant understand why that would be done.

I found out by trying to trick my secondary O2 with various methods O2 Sims and antifoulers none worked. I did all these test by driving and watch my laptop (I have software to read sensors, live data, and codes) No method I tried was sucessful, the only method that worked for keeping the CEL off was to modify my secondary O2 sensor. I have one cat in my exhaust and extended the sensor behind this cat since this is all it was looking and no more issues.
