alright guys, with those mods i doubt you will gain 20whp.

first, you MAY gain that much at peak hp, but your bottom end will DIE. so, you just took hp from another part of the powerband and shifted it to your top end.

second, your methods of adding the whp are incorrect. besides the fact that your #'s are inflated by a few whp per item, you are adding them on top of one another. that's not how you do it. for example, if i proved on a dyno that an exhaust yielded 5whp, an intake 5whp, and pullies 5whp, i would not gain 15whp total. it would probably be more like 11-13whp.

lastly, it has been proven time and time again that our cars are already very efficient in terms of airflow. you might gain a lot of whp with those mods on a '95 civic, but with the technology on our engines today, you won't see it.

your car will sound meaner and may have a bit of a fatter top end curve, but you will sacrifice the power in other places. therefore, your car overall will not be much faster.

This is true that you will not see the gains you have seen before on the older motors...HOWEVER...Having a full header back set up ( includes deleted cats) along with intake and pulleys you WILL see 20+ hp...sorry but you will...you will also notice a good torque increase.

here is the average gain with those parts

140 Stock whp

to

at least 160+

90% of the people on this site with those mods are well over that mark.

well i never got to stock dyno mine so i have no clue the exact gains, but im around the 164 mark now and that was before the s pipe was installed and the outside weather around 76 degrees, lets say i made 146 which i have heard some stock ones making, with the s pipe installed and a new set of plugs i should be right at 20 whp!

ummm i looked at the roundup testing for cai, header, axleback and basicly power was increased through the whole entire rpm range ... just the very few first 500 rpms it had a drop maybe

what does better launches mean? you can easily spin your tires through 1st gear on a stock 5 speed tC with a decent launch.. if your launches are better now, you must be losing some low-end torque... either that or you're launching in fat midrange RPMs, in which case you're already spinning your tires.... and isn't a better launch.

i'm not calling out your claims, i'm just stating my opinion. i tried the bolt-ons approach at first, too. i noticed a not-so-nice low end drop off, and IMO any gains i may have had on the top-end weren't worth it... hence i went back to stock and then TURBO'D!!!

basically what im saying is...

when i put my foot to the floor.. I noticeably felt more thrown into my seat then stock.

yea hes always posting his opinion on how its a waste of money for bolt ons ...

To me it seems like its worth it from every single dyno and 1/4 mile run ive seen with I/H/E/ + - pulleys

20 + hp to the wheels for 1500 seems pretty good when car only has 140 and costs 17,000

Do you have a before/after dyno for an intake, full exhaust + header, and pulley setup? I searched but could only find dyno plots for the individual pieces.
