Default I NEED SOME HELP, ADVICE, SOMETHING

ok most have you may have read my thread about the dealer curbing my wheel right in front of me, long story short they are paying for a new wheel.

Anyways since that day i have not drivin my car, it was simple from dealer to home and has been parked since last tuesday. today i decided to wash my car since i may have to go to the dealer tomarrow for a part thats under warranty in the interior...

So i go and im goong to move my car so i can wash it, and i hear a stange noise. I turn off car and open the hood, and to my disbelief my intake is cracked. Its a clean break, you can see how they were fused together (two pipes).

Needless to say I am FURIOUS again.

Ok when i bought the part I had the dealer install it, do you guys think this will be covered by "warranty" i know they said it would when i first got it, but dealers are always sly on how to get out of things.

I dont know how it could have happned, I dont drive stupid, maybe heat related since its such a clean break??

any advice is appreciated, but please no negativness...

Dang scion_jon, that ain't cool, but unfortunately there is no warranty on the CAI because it is classified as a "Race part".

Race or Off-Highway Use Parts have no warranty. Should any Race or Off-Highway Use Parts shown in this [Toyota Racing Development] catalog prove defective following their purchase, the buyer and not the manufacturer distributor, dealer or retailer, shall assume the entire cost of all necessary servicing or repair of the defective part and of any damage that may have been caused by the defective part. The buyer assumes the entire risk as to the performance of such parts. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable federal, state, local or other law, TRD expressly disclaims the implied warranties of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose, even if this catalog or any other materials mention a particular purpose for a Race or Off-Highway Use Part. TRD also disclaims all liability for direct, indirect; special, incidental or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, damage to or loss of personal property, loss of profits or revenue, cost of purchase of replacement goods, or claims of customers of the purchaser that result from the use of any and all Race or Off-Road Use Parts contained in this catalog.

HAHA. Haven’t seen that before. Your intake isn’t cracked it’s the bypass that’s F’d TRD warranty man.

I just took a look at a bypass valve and MysTiKchRis is correct, it looks like it broke and not the intake. You should be able to find a replacement pretty easily.

For a quick fix just take off the bypass and duck tape your pipes together till you get a new one.

^ so its all good now?

I'd say screw the bypass and just get a $5 silicone coupler and clamp it back on there.
