does the nology hotwires and the mmw ignition equilizer do the same thing?

 

no they don't. The nology wires are designed to give you the best and hottest spark everytime b/c of the capacitor. The equalizer is designed to provide equal ground to all the ignition coils and providing a more accurate spark.
