hey peeps i was wondering if any one of the brothers and sisters of the tc family ever needed to chance their ignition coil, along ur spark plug wire set yet? if so, did u repair the ignition coil urself? and if u did, how did u do it? all i know is that its not the same as our older cars are that have a distrubitor cap and then in the inside they would have the rotor. its totally different now a days with the newer models. so any one tried this before?

 

it's a coil on plug..
there's no wires for spark plugs like what you're thinking.

haven't seen much info on repair. i can look into it.

 

what are you trying to repair? of the hundreds of toyotas i've worked on, i've never "fixed" a coil, you just replace it if it dies.

 

tcprincess, thats wut im talkin about. replacing it. just wondering if it was a hard task. i work on cars too, but new to this coil ignition instead of the olders ones like the distributor caps and rotor inside. so with coil, its just a bolt on? no adjustments needed?

 

^^ nope.. no adjustments.. the pcm decides wat thu timing is.. u just unclip the connector 4 the coil.. take it out.. put new one in.. lol! its pretty easy..

 

If you’re going to get new ones prepare to empty your wallet. I forked out 480 for a new set of coils for my Tc.

why did you guys have to replace your coils? they should last quite some time, and remember, if one goes bad you don't have to replace them all.

Wow didn’t know you can get aftermarket coils.

 

I just bought from that website a new header gasket, very good price and and very good quality. For them to use this coil, it must be the same quality from the Denso ones.

 

Hey i'v been looking at this very same website myself to purchase a new header gasket, the price is so good i was afraid to buy it ,thinking they had it listed wrong or the listing and price was for the small gaskets that go in between the exhaust pipes.
toyo wants 30 for it HA!

 

I have 2 photos of the same Gasket I bought. It was a perfect match with a little different textures.

I would have sold it to u if u had asked. I bought it to see if it could be Gasket Matched, WRONG! I would have to port the head first.
