Injen Axle-Back Exhaust Rattle
Does anyone have the Injen Axle-Back exhaust on their tC?
I picked one up about a week ago from Speed Concept (Portland, OR), and it sounds great for the most part, but I'm hearing a nasty rattle (exhaust tip on bumper) from the back when idling. Also, it sounds really raspy when I open it up (4000rpm+), but that may be due to the Megan Headers. Any ideas?

i have had my injen axle-back for about 2 months n no rattle... the raspyness is the header no doubt...the rattle could be that not all hangers from the muffler where not put in the bushing if the rattle is from the muffler hittin the bumper...or u might need to tighten the bolts if its not the bumper...other than that i wouldnt know

Thanks for the info - just talked to the shop, and you're absolutely right; the raspy sound is the header. Gonna have them put in an extra resonator to see if that helps.
As for the bushings, did you use the stock ones? If so, how much space is between your tip and the bumper cutout? Mine is rubbing against my bumper. Ugh. :-P

^ what your talking about is due to not evenly tightening the bolts where the exhaust comes together with the mid pipe
just un bolt it line it up and then tighten it from that point
took me like 10-15min to get it perfect back when i had the injen

Thanks for the info, aaron! Do you have a resonator on your exhaust, or do you just use the s-pipe?
Also, I'm looking to keep it close to sleeper-quiet when I'm not romping on it (i.e. lower than 4000 rpm), so city driving doesn't sound like a bee in my ear. Any suggestions?

Injen CAI and Axle-back Exhaust is realy loud
Anyone have noise issues with the injenb CAI and the injen SES axle-back exhaust? My ears are still buzzing from this mornings 20 minute commute (and that was 60-70 mph).
Is this considered "normal" ?

Yep, my exhaust was louder than I could stand (I have the Injen CAI, Megan Headers, and the Injen SES exhaust). I had the shop remove the stock resonator and weld in a Magnaflow exhaust in the midpipe which made it really really quiet with little to no performance hit.

BTW - there's a really cheap fix for the exhaust tip rattle - just go to Napa and pick up a replacement exhaust hanger. The ones they have in stock are about an inch longer than stock and moves the tip down just enough to not hit the bumper at all!

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I notice the rattle if coming from the axel back pipe, not hitting the bumper. It's rattle against the bottom frame of the car. metal on metal, I can hear it when idled or when I'm reversing.
