thanks for all the hard work you put in also bro. i could not have finished it all so fast with out your help. stupid lower pipe slowed us down not being able to get in in right away. the ecu is slowly learning but it seems to be getting better the more i use it. last night i went out for some fun and it sounded great at WOT or half throttle. i do feel now though as there is still alot of restriction coming from the stock header which might be holding the head back from breathing out a little more.

car seems to lag a little at 3k at WOT but it does go a little faster. nothing to noticable but its an improvement. a header upgrade will be next and that should really make things interesting lol. i dont hear it as much on the outside like u said. only at WOT or heavy acceleration other then that its super quiet and yes it whistles like ****. i doesnt bother anymore as much as it did the first hour.

im 80/20 happy so far. i wish i would have done a dyno o fmy car stock to get an idea of were the powerband is now but oh well. ill do it next time on the header upgrade. im hoping some cams finally come out for the car as i think that will make a huge diference.

johnathat if you go on monday ill give you a ride and see if i can set something up with me against another tc, your bro, or maybe mister plastic lug nuts.. just for ____s and giggles. i know what i can do against your brother so im hoping he's down to run at a safe spot that i know of thats close by.

I installed mine yesterday, as well as put insulating wrapping on the pipe section in the engine bay. It really did make a difference.

i plan on adding some heat wrap on the MAF pipe all the way from the coupling to the TB. i noticed it gets quite hot so ill be adding that soon. Im not much into the cosmetics of an engine bay... function > form for me. if it gets ugly ill just flat black the wrap and it will look just dandy.

Looks nice, I am planning on getting the injen cai. How was the installation, and did you remove the bumper or just the wheel?

I got some pipe wrapping from Lowe's... Costs just a few bucks. It's a 1/8th inch thick foam with an adhesive side and a radiative shielding side. Rvalue = 2.

It works. I bought 2 packs, but one is enough. I'll probably double it up soon.

Also... You don't have to take off the bumper or the battery. I installed the CAI by myself in about 1 hour. If the bumper gives you trouble, you can pull it back a few inches and cause no damage... it's plastic.

Additionally, I cut a few vents in the plastic directly below the CAI. I don't see water as being a problem... and this is coming from a guy who hydrolocked his Jetta.

^^ the pictures explain it.. you either take the wheel off or take the bumper off.. both will work.. i took the wheel off becuase its easier that way..

you loose a hair of low end tq but nothing to crazy you will still have enough to spin like always and get out the whole. but you will gain more from the mid and top end.

update* car is feeling much better now with the mod. i think the ecu has learned.

You must remove the wheel... You don't have to remove the bumper or battery.
