Default injen cai, question.

i've got my injen cai intake ordered, should be here sooner or later(injen's been kinda slow lately).

anyways my question goes...

i live in the metro nyc area, so i get a full year of seasons rain, snow w/e.

and w/ winter approaching should i install my CAI in short ram form or the full cai form? or is hydrolock pretty rare i shouldn't really worry about rain even in full form?

If you get floodings in your area then put it as SR if not then install it as CAI if you're still scared of hydrolocking buy and AEM Bypass so it won't hydrolock and that should be it.

Enjoy it!! :D

Everything I've read on this issue says that your intake won't cause hydrolocking unless it's fully submerged, so to second the post above, you'll be fine unless you have flooding issues. If so, buy the AEM bypass seperately. Costs about $30-$45.

hell... even as low as 2k with the proper throttle input it'll whistle.

leave it in CAI form, just dont drive your car through a river and you'll be fine.

I live in NYC and ive had my CAI without any problems of Hydrolocking - ive even gone through a full average sized puddles without problems. Just make sure you arent going through flooded streets

Holy thread revival Batman! (sorry had to do it)

If you don't know what you're doing or have no clue about a car then don't try it. If you have a basic understanding of cars and are mechanically inclined then you should be OK. I say find a friend to help you out.
