Injen Cold Air Intake filters??
Yes you need to change/clean it every 5k-9k miles, whenever it is dirty. You'll need to oil it when you clean it. When you buy a replacement filter, they are about 25 bucks. Ptuning.com has them and they are great to buy from.
sorry i had to laugh. No he meant 5,000-9,000miles to either change/clean it. If it was 3 miles, you would look funny with a car full of intake filters and changing it every other stoplight.
haha i knew that!!!
hahaha but i have one more question? do u guys know if there are any long term cons for the Injen CAI?? because this intake was a gift from my uncle, and i am wondering if i install this intake, will i have any problems with it working with my stock engine??
I wouldnt say "Crappy" since the CAI provides virtually zero gains over stock. Apparently the stock one isnt too bad
It wont cause you any issues unless it breaks the mounting point on top of the motor mount. I have only heard of a couple of injens doing this, but a large number of K&N's do. The system will work normally, and as long as you install it correctly you wont have any abnormal effects. As I said, there is no noticeable performance difference, so you arent putting a large impact on the system. No worries in that area.
They sound nice, and sound better with a good exhaust as mentioned.

Just put in sythetic oil into ur car and you should be fine in the future, i have to replace my intake filter soon cuz i know its dirty
And you ran controlled dyno tests after each mod to verify those numbers??
You gained.. MAYBE if you were lucky, 10 hp will ALL of those mods. That is almost enough to feel. You absolutely do not noticed a difference from a CAI on this car.... I have run it with and without the CAI. when you put it on, you were fooled (the good old butt dyno) by the sound. Take it off and you wont notice a thing. This has been covered in a million places.
And if you think those mods "pulled like a turbo", then you have never ran a turbo.. or even a decent power mod.
The intake gives you MAYBE 2 hp to the wheels after the ecu adjusts to it. You will never feel that.
Not trying to be rude, but these are facts. As a matter of fact, once you sit for a few minutes idling, the TERRIBLE heat soak of the metal CAI tube will rob you of power... worse than the stock intake would.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying the sound and looks of your mods, but dont get overly hyped by manufacturer bs.. manufacturers will also tell you lighter pulleys and flywheels add power (physically impossible), CAI;s improve mileage (Also completely untrue), converting your coil on plug to standard plugs and "nawlogy" wires is better (bs) and that a turbonator will cut a second off your times at the track and give you 20 more mpg. Oh... and if you sit your razor blades under a pyramid they will magically re-sharpen. :D
Like I said, nothing personal, but the facts are out there all over if you search for them.
Oh, and of course your car runs better in the cold (well known fact of all cars).. it did before you added the CAI.. that is the whole point.. colder air is denser air.

Is the air filter a K&N Filter? Because the K&N air filter has a cleaning kit that I have used in the past for a different car and it does have an oil that you apply and allow to dry for some time. Do you have the TRD Cold Air Intake or is it an after market?
