it used to be a megan midpipe yes,

the megan midpipe consists of two resonators, a small one and a big one. i had both chopped off and the small one is replaced with an AR25 (14") and the longer was replaced with a turbo muffler from the shop, which was around 22" long.

i gotta say though it doesnt really matter much on how long a resonator you put on, what's more important is how the inside is made. if its straight through with half an inch of sound deadening on each side (like the megans both were), it wont do much for killing noise.

i wasnt able to get any sound clips today as it was raining non stop and that would cut into the..well the sound clip =p ill update as soon as i get some though.

just curious.... did the larger "turbo muffler" reduce your power? It's my understanding that you need some back pressure to optimize your gains. Have you had your back pressure tested?

Very, Very, Very nice set up. Looks great, and I can't wait to hear it.

the setup consists of: Strup header --> Megan S-pipe --> Custom 2.5" midpipe (one Aero AR25 as well as a 'Turbo Muffler' [thats what the guy called it] from the muffler place. both resonators are 2.5" inner diameter as well) --> Megan OE-RS axleback


i will get one of 1st-3rd redlined at WOT and post it up this weekend.

i'm contemplating on switching to the Buschur Racing axleback that ZPI rebadged under their name and used to carry which is very similar to the megan oe-rs axleback: however the muffler is a little smaller but it is a magnaflow. if anything it might flow better as well as sound a tiny bit louder. plus it looks cool as hell, i love the design.

hows the power band cedric... from 3k to redline... any TQ loss from the lower end?? mid range etc...

TQ loss is a little noticeable driving around town, but when you floor it the top end feels nice after around 3200k and (to me) makes it worth it

nah, i did the antifouler mod as i installed the header. its been on over a month now, probably 1500 miles, and no CEL. not even at 90mph, 100, etc.

the two yellow lights you see lit up in the vids are 1: my tire pressure since i dont have the senosrs, and 2: forgot to reset my oil counter so it thinks it needs an oil change.

ah i was wondering about tire pressure, you've got an '07 and i guess didn't move the sensors over like you said lol, i've got an '06 so that won't matter when i ge t my wheels :D, and i hate lights in the cabin, so i'd have cleared that oil change light asap after doing.

good to hear it's all good though, i picked up a slightly used megan header for 100$ today, starting with that and building my way back (not installing till i have it all though... or it'll sound like crap...)

Curious about your turbo muffler - any pics of it?

Btw, yours is the BEST-sounding exhaust with header I've heard - absolutely no rasp @ any rpm.

i say stick with the megan. the ZPI branded one looks like it would scrape on things if you are lowered. it sounds nice though... better than my rasp machine...

any way to get shots of where the headers connect to the spipe? this is really the only part of the exhaust im worried about.
