just got my k&n air filter
haven't had a chance to install it yet, i'll let you know if i feel any gain after the installation. My brother had one installed too on his 3, he said he felt some gain, so i shall see if what he felt was really there
sounds good after K&N filter, the tone was deeper, and the whistle noise when i acclerate is more obvious, i love it =) and i can feel that i can change gear faster, the gain is not much, but i can feel it

got mine drop in K & N filter a month ago. i haven't noticed a bit of difference in sound, power, or gas mileage. in fact, it may have gotten slightly worse. went on a road trip to LA from Phoenix and my highway mileage @ 70mph average was about 25mpg. where the heck is my 30mpg??
if anyone is interested. I just ordered a "Injen Cold Air Intake" from http://www.hopupracing.com/ for $239.00. According to Injen, it has been Dynoed at 12hp/9 ft-lbs of torque.

I have the K&N drop-in, and was wondering if anyone else is expereincing this: every time I start up the car, the CEL will flash 7 times-- the usual flash, and then 6 "new" flashes. Doesn't appear to do anything negative, so I'm not gonna fool with it. Just wondering if it did it to anyone else.
Motor sounds a little beefier up above 3.5k. But I bought it for longevity and ease of use, not expecting any real gains. My last K&N was in it's ninth year when I sold it...

I thank you sir... I have learned not to make assumptions-- assumptions such as thinking the dealer would have reset it when they changed the oil about a month ago.
