K&N Drop in filter - Review
i wasn't thinking of power. just change of filter
since the k&n short ram intake is pretty much the same concept, get get the k&n "drop in filter" and a better piping from the intake to the engine.

hmmm i removed the resonator and pluged it in with a 1 inch cap. that helped a little with sound. however there is a "secondary" filter on the top part of the intake box. is it ok to break that? i read it some where people said just poke it. im afraid taht might stirr up some CEL
Yeah it gained 0 WHP and lost 1 WTQ. I modified my stock box to accept a 3 in ram-air tube which makes a difference. If you don't plan on ram-air don't waste your money, get a good intake instead.
My turbo setup sound changed dramatically with the k&n filter from OEM. Muffles way less than the OEM filter did. I tested it for ____s and grins on the dyno and saw a few ponies and tq but turbo is much more receptive to things like that than N/A.
When I had this setup I took that resonator off and put a plug in there. Then I punched out the white filter in the top of the airbox, dropped in a k&n air filter and took off the pipe that went into the fender... Thats the closest youll get to a shortram with the stock airbox IMO... But I eventually got a real CAI!
