Default K&N Typhoon 69 series on an 08 tc?

I had an 05 tC with the K&N typhoon CAI, and loved it. I traded it in for the 08, and was going to trade intakes, but I was told that they changed something with the MAF sensor, so it would not work with the new tC. Is this true? I was told they could get it to work, but it would set off my engine warning light. Does anyone out there have a typhoon on an 08 or later model tC? Any other suggestions?

The older one will not work on 07+. The MAF is different, if I recall.

^ are you serious? it's not like the injen or aem make that much of a difference in performance... i had the k&n and loved mine before i went S/C.... might still use it too...

Well, by the numbers, the K&N is actually the least powerful... but for the amount of power these things are actually making, it's probably not worth debating. Just get whichever you like the look of best for the $.

Btw, I have the Injen and my bracket is broken as well - so it's not just a K&N thing.

i see. anyway.. if someone need/want to buy new CAI it would better for him to go something else than k&n...

im trying to help here.

as far as i understand he needs to get new one because hes got an 08 tc and an old CAI...

so he needs new one.. sell the old one get injen or aem ( i would get aem because they have blue and red)

I sell cold air panels for Injen 5-1 over the next best seller. Injen takes vibramounts out back behind the woodshed and beats the snot out of them with a rake handle.

Can't comment to the power capabilities of them fancy CAIs-- I'm a GFI man. :D

that air panels was good until i got my lower bracket reshipped from k&n

the story is: the first owner didnt install the lower bracket, the top bracket was broken, whatever i stuffed to the hole the wall cut thru it and banged my intake pipe..
so ordered the air panel stuff... top bracket was welded.
the install was easier than i thought it will be but since the pipe was making noise all the time when it was rubbing with the ribber o ring which holds the piping.

re ordered the lower bracket installed and the air panel was off by an inch!!! i dont know how.. tried to fix it but i couldnt. the air panel was holding the pipe in a stupid way with the two bracket installed so i took the air panel out. that wall looks poop without the air panel but at least no more plastic on rubber noise
