No it can't, sorry I've tried and it just doesn't fit...It needs to be used as a CAI

 

I tried, and the fit was a bit too tight. a sharp edge on the fender panel ended up cutting into the filter itself.

Hmmm? I have a knn CAI and I have mine set up as a SRI. I like it as a SRI but I was thinking about trying it as a CAI. Does anyone think that I would make much of a difference? and which would you recommend and why

 

I belive ive read on one of the intake duno test post ( around here somewere ) that the MAF sensor reads way to much air in SRI mode, and the tC actually seen better gains when in CAI mode. Even so, CAI would be alot better because of were the air is being drawn from. Cooler air would be better.

 

I have to say though. I can really feel a difference with the SRI installed...I will try the CAI as well and get back to everyone with my opinion
