What's wrong with having a super torquey 1st/2nd gear? You don't like running with 200hp cars till mid 3rd gear with a bone stock tC?
What's wrong with getting used to your car for 6 months and then not noticing any difference in the throttle just because your other cars were different. Not better not worse. Different.
IMHO you can control 1st gear tire spin/launch better with the delayed throttle. Just learn how to use it right =) Just my $.02

If you worried about too much of a torquey first gear response, do as follows: 1) attach a small metal chain to your right big toe 2) put an alligator clip on the other end of the chain 3)attach that alligator clip to your nipple

Bam! problem solved.

lol seriously tho, that same problem really annoyed me too so I got the Energy Suspension motor mounts/bushings but and its like driving a whole different car. No chirping, all the power gets to the ground, much smoother take offs.....it seriously almost feels like ive had a limited slip differential put it

I have a manifold pressure gauge on my tC (naturally-aspirated), and when I step on the gas, I see the pressure go from vacuum to 0 almost instantly. The actual RPM change seems a bit delayed.

That gauge is fun, as you can find out how much air is being let through at any moment while driving.

Another solution is to not just blip the throttle. Ive noticed that the car does not like it. Granted Im an Auto, but I figure it should still hold true. IF your gonna wanna blip it, do it in 2 quick blips. Kinda like double tap it, the car also responds better to that :D

I painted racing stripes on mine and the throttle delay went away.

Blip only twice? I blip like 3-4 times sometimes just cuz I love my Fujita CAI. Haha, but yes, blipping once = bad, blip more than once = helps.

Take a look at our DBW controller. If you are still using the "Drive By Wire" throttle body on your Scion tC this is a great addition that is a complete Plug N Play units which installs in 2 minutes.

Anyone in the Los Angeles area that is interested in testing this unit in there car is more that welcome to stop by or Torrance, CA race shop for a demo.

I have a "SHOP" unit I can install in your car for a display.

As others have mentioned, a NonStopTuning crank pulley, by itself or along with the NST alternator pulley and water pump pulley kit, helps quite a bit in this department.

Everyone who has installed the NST setup has always mentioned better throttle response, quicker acceleration, and even better MPG when driving habit remained the same!

if you have a throttle cable you can use the zip tie "mod". take off ur kick panel, lift up ur pedal, then zip tie the slack, usually theres a bracket or support beam near the cable so zip tie it to the bracket. then let go of the pedal should go back to the oem position but now u have a hair trigger pedal.

if you have a drive by wire like someone else said, unorthodox UD pulleys, larger throttle body, throttle body spacer and a tune.

dont double clutch, it will only cook your clutch

wow just wow. i read on the honda forum, that if you run a large throttle than you have to run a smaller plenum and vice versa. they say the air will hug the walls and slow the velocity or something like that. my delay went away with advance timing and tuning.
