precision muffler, trd axelback, strup axelback, dc sports axelback. magnaflow catback , borla, greddy spectrum elite, megan oe axelback

those are some of the oem style ones. depends on which you want. i also depends on how loud you want to go or how quite you want to go. best thing you could do. that im sure all of us have done before we bought a exhaust is go to youtube listen to all the exhaust. and see which one you like the best. how i decided on the trd. see as you want a decent sounding oem style one. i would go with ether the trd, or precision muffler. both sound pretty good.

too bad the TIC isn't a catback, its an axelback. greddy doesn't offer a catback for out cars.

and I know for a fact its not a catback bc I own the Greddy TIC, SP2, and Evo2. I have a thing for greddy exhausts which is why im looking for the other 2 models I don't have the DT(which isn't produced anymore) and SE

OK people... first... knock it off (i'm going to have to clean this crap up).

Second: The term "catback" for the tC is very convoluted. There are two cats for the tC (one in the header and one in the midpipe). So some "catback" exhausts for the tC are really just axlebacks and some are from the s-pipe back and some are from the header back. That's a manufacturer's description problem. Many of them (apparently including GReddy) use the term "cat back" very loosely. But since there is a cat in the midpipe - a tC's axleback could technically be called a catback.

The more common catback for a tC would include a midpipe and axleback - which ironically enough isn't even a catback if you consider that the spipe is really where a catback would start.

Fact is you need to know what section you're buying. The tC's exhaust is in 4 pieces...

Header -> S Pipe -> Midpipe -> Axleback.

If you don't know what you're getting, you need to contact the manufacturer (and FYI, pictures from their site aren't always the same - they're "stock" photos and may be of a different model entirely).

Now... let's get back to NOT being jerks and bickering.

just explaining since the guy obviously didn't know what he was buying, especially considering I have the exhaust he's getting.

I love these threads! hahaha

However, OP check out the HKS Hi Power. I ran that for awhile and LOVED it. It's not OEM style but it sounds great.

they better! $600 is way too much for an axleback for our cars.

I <3 my Magnaflow TRUE cat-back. It was around 350 shipped I think. Just need to make a cut a few inches after the secondary cat (retains all emissions components) and the tone is deep and reserved yet free-er flowing. Fitment was astonishingly perfect and the tip is beautiful IMO.

I am going to be ordering a full stainless exhaust from mandrelexhaustsystems.com, they offer them for $365 shipped. They have magnaflow, borla, and i'm sure other mufflers if you ask them. I'm getting a custom setup by them once some of my other parts sell.

Seriously, if you want to advertise for Tanabe products all of the time, I suggest you become a sponsor or have someone from Tanabe register and post crap. This "on the sly" stuff won't fly.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I would opt for the Magnaflow though if you want your exhaust note to stay reserved but deeper. The Borla is a bit louder though so if that is what you are looking for, it's also a decent muffler manufacturer.
