I live in alaska, so trust me, that 95 db thing in cali. doesn't apply here. That been said, who makes a real meaty, loud exhaust for the xb? Secondly, I'm not sure about everyone's thoughts on "rice" exhaust, but I kind of like the sound. I'm not saying I want it buzzing, but does anyone know an exhaust that sounds like some of the cars in fats and the furious? gratzi

 

Pick one of the Catback systems on the market. Most are going to be in the below 95 db category due to C.A.R.B certs for making kits 50 state legal.

If you want to go really loud, go to a custom exhaust shop and have them do a system for you. They will be able to fit a number of mufflers etc, so you can hear them before welding.

 

ya, that's what we did for our truck. But do you think shops have stuff for for scions?

 

Scions use industry standard hardware. Shops can bend pipe and fit mufflers for just about anything you can come up with. Not to mention the fact that you can hear different muffler/resonator combinations before you weld the system up.

If he wants loud he needs to run a header, the cat & maybe a muffler. If you size the pipe right the cat will make enough back pressure so you dont need the muffler. Also to make it louder dont get a resonator. Not sure what this would sound like though.

 

Get a japanese exhaust like rsr or espelir. They will probably be pretty loud plus they come with a silencer if you don't like it. they don't design there exhausts to meet cali laws. they don't have much of a muffler.
