Default magnaflow clamps

is there a reason why the different pipe sections of the magnaflow exhaust for the tc are held together by clamps? it seems like most other exhausts use bolts to hold together different pieces of pipe. will the clamps hold just as well?

i have a g35 and have a borla exhaust on it which uses clamps....dont worry the clamps work very well because they dont just clamp two pipes together u have to actually slide one pipe into the other then clamp it...it is actually a nice and easy installation and no leaks

Actually there's quite a few aftermarket exhaust systems, for many cars & trucks, that use clamps to connect pipe sections. Dezod's exhausts for the tC uses clamps also. This makes it easier to ship the system and allows you to clamp it together in your garage without having to take it somewhere and get it welded (although that's an option too with clamped systems).

If you buy a clamped system make sure you have a torque wrench and torque the clamp bolts to specification. Clamps too loose or too tight might leak.
