Just wondering, how often do people/ we need to change out the pcv/check valve in our tc's, what milage do they recommend to do so? Im at 55k currently, thanks guys

 

i would definitely replace it at your mileage. Usually i'd replace it every 30k miles.

 

im at 96k and am doing my first....its not a mileage thing....just check it and if it looks like it needs replaced.....replace it

 

you should change the pcv valve every 60K miles. if you dont see any kind of contaminants, oil or carbon build up you can spray it with a lil bit of carb or brake cleaner and put it back in. the pcv is like $3 so changing it anyway with a tune up wont break the bank.

 

It comes with a thread coating already on when new and it would be removed when you take out the pcv valve. but for the money, just replace it with a new one, i think i paid like $4 at the dealer for one.

 

yup, just ordered, and will be here sat when i do my oil change, and it was 5.50ish at the delear so it wasn't a bank robber or nothing. thanks though guys.

 

Glad I saw this thread, as I was going to buy one soon. Good to know it's cheap from the dealer, as all the aftermarket prices I found were higher, like $8-12 for a Fram brand from various auto parts stores (autozone, kragen, pepboys).
