There's no stupid questions, anyways , from my observation experience, I would say no, if so, there would be little gains.

Very minimal i would say. Pocket that money and save up for a forced induction kit where engine management will actually be useful.

R U SERIOUS!!! jk man. I dont think autos have a clutch or a flywheel. From what i know they have wut is called a torque converter. and no your question aint dumb just another person thats curious.

But when you do get your manual trans in then go buy your aftermarket clutch and flywheel.

never any stupid questions! there was a time where all of us didnt know the answers to these.

1. there will be minimal gain, but put other parts on you'll see slightly more gain. give me a call for prices!
2. threadjackings is frowned upon! JK

No gain from aftermarket management software, unless you do something major OR upgrade fuel injectors.

-

Automatic transmissions do not use a clutch. Instead, they have a torque converter, which is similar to a clutch, but it automatically engages at a set RPM. Notice that accleration will never happen below a set RPM.... below which, it is called "Stall", and above which is called "lockup."

Automatic trannys are fairly complicated and require a lot of reading... the best article is the "howstuffworks" article.

--

Autos DO have a flywheel, but it would be a major pain to get to and change. It's not routinely changed on automatic TC's, and would probably be bad for the transmission based on how an auto works.

If you must lighten up the drivetrain, consider an underdrive pulley. The safest way, however, is to get extremely light wheels.

Which brings me to my next point.... the most overlooked, and easily the most important, performance upgrade a person can do to their car is TIRES. Sure, it's not flashy, but it improves every single aspect of your car's performance. Handling goes way up, acceleration improves with much better launches, responsiveness goes up, etc.

All things being equal, the guy with better tires always wins.

Automatics use a flex plate and torque converter. manuals use a flywheel and a clutch.

Doing the 5 spd swap? Need a 07-up 5 spd engine wiring harness??? Shoot me a pm - i have one in the garage i needa get rid of Also as for tuning - I have an auto and am currently running the car n/a after getting the new motor in it. I happen to alread have a fic so i played around with a map for it - i did see a decent low end torque gain, and maybe a tad of top end hp on the butt dyno but the main diff is you can tune the fuel maps to give you a decently better throttle response which is nice But if you dont plan on going f/i its really not worth the money - i just happen to already have mine on the car so mine was just the expense of time dialing in an n/a map
