Default megan exhaust prob... rattle ?

i have the megan drift spec exhaust... and at startup.. it rattles. i believe it is hitting the black metal rod in the middle area of the car..

i cant seem to figure out how to adjust it so it doesent touch it. it seems like the midpipe will not go any further up or anything nd its pretty stiff. any ideas how to adjust? it all hangs kinda low also... but again.. i cant figure out why and how...

thank you.

my megan midpipe hangs low too, so I just took that metal rod off, I think its just there as a safety precaution in case all your rubber hangers happen to break so your exhaust doesn't fall to the ground. I also had another hanger welded on to better support the exhaust and fix the fitment issue.

there's a lot of play with the drift spec install from what i've seen. there's a lot of readjusting that can be done. i think best thing for you to do may be to take apart the whole thing and do the install again, i've readjusted the back half of my drift spec a couple times to get it right.

Default megan drift spec. exhaust rattle

i think that megan should read adjust their way of making it... i installed mine the other day and it's really a pain. and now i have the issue of the black bracket rattle. and let's not forget the soon to be chipping paint on the back bumper from the muffler..

To solve the problem of the black bracket rattle, take 4 washers for each bolt and put it between the car and bracket. That pushes it far enough away to make it not hit.

or just take a grinder and notch the bracket, mine was only hitting toward the front end of the car. I also grinded down where the midpipe attaches to the s-pipe because it wasn't fitting as snuggly as I wanted.

This topic had to do with the fit relevant to the brace under the exhaust. Not many people, that i have heard of have problems with the bumper alignment. I didnt have problems with the brace when i first put it on, but after a couple of miles, i started to get the rattle and found i quick solution.

ohh nothin bad then. I've scraped it once cause the driveway was a really really steep hill, just gotta take it really slow and one wheel at a time. I love the sound though

Yes, love the sound, but in may i have to go and get a high flow cat installed so that i can pass inspection. So that is more money out of my pocket

When i installed my drift spec i ran into a couple fitment problems i had to use a torch to heat up the hangers and bend the hangers to make the pipes all fit right
