Mid pipe question
i just installed a aftermarket header on my car. with my CAI and axle back exhaust, it made it alottt louder. I wanted to know if anyone knows it the megan racing mid pipe with tune down some of the rasp
I am not sure if it will tone it down much if at all... do you know of how big the resonator is on that midpipe? Megans midpipe is only 2.25" in diameter, what is the rest of your exhaust like? Do you still have the stock s-pipe? Well it seems like the "magic" number for a resonator is 30" so you could have one or 2 in your midpipe that total that number and the car should sound better but I can't tell ya if it will or not...
haha i just replyed to 2 other forms about this same issue. on my car i had trd exhaust, trd cai, and full megan piping. That set up sounds awsome alone. So last night i decided to add some headers. I installed dc headers. I didnt think too much was going to change. Damn i was wrong, its freakin loud. I swear u'd be able to hear me from far. Now today i took out my megan mid pipe and put in my stock mid pipe. I did this in the mean while i make a decision on what i want to keep and what i want to get rid of. Plus i dont want to get hassled by the cops. I figured removing the mid was easyest plus i was gona look into adding a resonaor or 2.
But my question is what would be my best option with out loosing too much hp/torque to not be too loud. Sould i get rid of the piping bc of loudness and rasp, get rid of exhaust or is it worth it to add the resonators?

well figure out how much the resonators will be and see if it is worth it to you... with the resonators you might loose 1hp or so, nothing noticeable though... or you could just put the stock header back on if it is too anoying for now... your call
