I just installed my gates 170 degree thermostat and it works amazing with the mish rad and my fan setup.. I cruise now usually between 177 to 184F! even with a watercooled turbo setup..

no never found out what its for, someone said its to get air out of the block. not sure if its accurate though.. the gates thermostat didnt have one so i dont think its something really very useful

my issue was the o-ring. went to home depot and got a bag full of them for a buck.
put the new o-ring and some teflon tape and no leaks

OMG i thought it was the drain plug it self , i noticed that when you screw plug in the rubber gets smash by plug and radiator walls so im just going to used the stock ones then and do what you did .......... thanks

no prob, just make sure to look in on them once in awhile. if the o-ring does not have any cracks, its good to use. when they dry out and crack, they dont seal all that well.

none of them have it, i did the same thing when i saw the leak. i contacted mishimoto and they sent me a new set but only one set, i needed two. i compared the plugs and they were identical. the only difference was the o-ring, the one i had was junk.
